Research Culture

IPC supports and promotes a research culture aimed at:

  • producing outputs relevant and applicable to its teaching programmes,
  • creating a link to its professional development programme,
  • supporting the College's philosophy, vision and goals.

These objectives are achieved through resourcing faculty research activities, either through provision of funds via a contestable research fund and/or other resources such as research time. The College has adopted the NZQA definition of Research. Individual research projects carried out at the College follow human ethics guidelines as set out in its policy on research.

The research programme at the College is managed and monitored by the Research Committee, supported by an all-faculty Research Forum, whose role it is to facilitate an encouraging environment for staff research activities.
