Badminton
Played with rackets and a shuttlecock; singles or pairs try to land their shuttles over the net and into their opponents area. This is one of the largest teams at IPC.
Basketball
Five people per side try to shoot a ball through their opponent's hoop. Men and women have separate playing times.
Capoeira
An Afro-Brazilian form of martial art that is characterized by slow, dance like moves that are performed to music. IPC is the only location in Palmerston North where you can find this challenging martial art.
Dance
The dance club practices it's breaking, R 'n' B, Jazz, poping, locking and free style to the newest, hottest music. If you want to have fun and get your groove on, this is the club for you.
Frisbee
A cross between Frisbee, football and basketball. Teams try to run and pass their Frisbee into other teams end zone. There are no referees, the rules are self-governed and indoor Frisbee must be played mixed. Frisbee is one of the largest clubs at IPC.
Futsal
A five-a-side version of soccer usually played indoors. This fast-paced game requires quick thinking and quicker feet. Recreational team.
Hip-Hop
Modern dance moves that accompany hip-hop music. Learn the latest moves to the latest music and impress all your friends. This club includes both men and women.
Indiaca
A game similar to volleyball except you play with an indiaca ball which looks like a larger version of a shuttlecock, but with feathers. You hit the ball over the net using your hands and arms.
Indoor Hockey
A fast game involving sticks and an indoor puck. Four people per side try to shoot the puck into the opponents net. This game is not played with inline skates.
Indoor Soccer
Competitive men's soccer team. This team also competes in community tournaments.
Inline Hockey
Inline hockey is a game derived from and very similar to ice hockey, but using inline skates instead of ice skates.
Kendo
This sport is based on the ancient Japanese art of sword fighting. Combatants use bamboo swords wrapped in leather (shinai) to score points by striking opponents in the head, the side of the body, the throat or the wrists. Equipment is provided.
Kickboxing
Once known as "full-contact karate", kickboxing incorporates boxing-like punches and jabs, low licks and grappling moves and holds. This demanding sport is a full-body workout.
Latin Dance
Group and couples dance Salsa, Samba, Merengue, Cha Cha Cha and Rumba. Experienced or not, dance is a great way to have fun, meet new people and is great exercise.
Music
If you have aspirations of stardom or just want jam with the guys, the music club is for you. Guitarists, drummers, bassists or singers this is your chance to meet other musical people and form your own band.
Netball
Based on basketball, netball has seven players on the court shooting at a basketball net with no backboard. Players are not allowed to run with or dribble the ball and are restricted to their alloted places on the court. Netball is one of the fastest growing sports in New Zealand.
Table Tennis
Played on a table with tennis-like markings and paddles, this sport involves good hand-eye coordination and can be played singles or doubles.
Tai Kwon Do
A Korean martial art that grew from the basis of Karate. This unarmed sport is the most popular martial art worldwide. Tae Kwon Do literally translates to the "way of the foot and the fist".
Volleyball
Six people on each side of a net try to keep a ball in the air using their arms. This exciting sport is made up of a mixed team.
Yoga
A form of exercise that focuses on breathing, body positioning and alignment. Minimal equipment needed, usually just a mat.
