NZIIA Speaker: Daryl Copeland

By Chakrit Tiebitienrat.

IPC has a great opportunity to welcome Mr. Daryl Copeland to speak on Guerrilla Diplomacy at the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs session on the 3rd of March 2010.

Mr. Copeland is a CPD Fellow and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Public Diplomacy. He served as a Canadian Diplomat in New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia, and Ethiopia. He also worked as a Director of both Southeast Asia International Communication and the Canadian Institute of International Affairs.

Diplomatic system has evolved from a conservative form of negotiation into a new system that involves every sector of our community since the end of the Cold War. Mr. Copeland talked about his experiences as a diplomat and researcher from Africa to Asia, America, and the Pacific. It was an excellent experience for our staff and students to have had firsthand experience from such an exceptional researcher in his field.
