New relationship established between IPC and Guizhou University in China

By Emu Izaki.

IPC President Professor Wayne Edwards signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Guizhou University in Guiyang, China, on 24th February. This is to encourage collaboration between the two institutions through, for example, exchanges of students and staff, information and research.

This opportunity came true thanks to Professor Binglin Li from Guizhou University in Guiyang, Palmerston North’s sister city in China, who stayed at IPC from the end of January this year for his research and preparation for publishing a book. This was his second visit to IPC. His newly finished book is titled 'Studies on Major Factors Underlying the Writing Proficiency of College Students.' To show his appreciation for the hospitality and friendship he has experienced during his stays at IPC, Professor Li has dedicated it to International Pacific College, with an accompanying photo of IPC campus.

At a farewell luncheon, Professor Li said, "Many people in China think of European countries when it comes to studying abroad. I would like to let people in China know how beautiful and suitable New Zealand and IPC are for their higher education. This Memorandum of Understanding will be a great start."

IPC President Wayne Edwards responded: "It was an honour for us to host Professor Li at IPC. I hope this Memorandum of Understanding signed today will bring further development for both institutions."
