The English Language Promotion Working Group (ELP Group) was set up to investigate the English teaching and learning at IPC and to make specific recommendations for future improvements. The group was made up of staff members from different academic programmes, and met regularly over a period of months to discuss ideas and issues and to try to reach agreed recommendations, with their first meeting on 7th October. These were collected into a report, which was circulated to all academic staff for feedback before a final report was made.

A second group, the English Language Promotion Implementation Group has now been set up to take the report's recommendations and work towards implementing them if possible, in order to make sure that IPC's English teaching and learning are as good as we can make them to be.

Working Group members:

  • Wayne Edwards (President IPC) (Chair)
  • Gillian Claridge (Assistant Dean BIS)
  • Donal Crawford (Assistant Dean ESOL/FEP)
  • Takahiro Kojima (Dean ESOL/EOC)
  • Gavin Mardon (Lecturer FEP/EOC)
  • Derek McGovern (Lecturer DIS)
  • Sherryl Curtis (Notetaker)

Implementation Group members:
