Vietnamese students and staff celebrating the Vietnamese Independence Day in the library

Special exhibition of products from Vietnam in the library

Vietnamese Independence Day Celebration

By Emu Izaki and Shirley Ghozalli. Edited by Moira Blake

The Vietnamese Independence Day, which falls on 2nd September, was celebrated by the Vietnamese students on IPC Campus.

Vietnamese art and craft products, books, DVDs, postcards and flags were displayed in a special exhibition in the library. There were also "fried spring rolls" served in the dining hall for lunch that day. They were made by the Vietnamese student and became a very popular item on the lunch menu.

Also on this day, most of the Vietnamese students were wearing their traditional costumes, aozai for females and suits for males. This was a good opportunity for students from other countries to get to know about Vietnam and the Vietnamese Independence Day.
