In conjunction with the World Environment Day that falls on 5th June, the students in the Master of International Studies programme carried out a tree-planting activity in the area surrounding Palmerston North's Recycling Centre on 7th June. The city had called for volunteers for this activity and, as part of the "Science and Environment" class under Mr. Maurice Judd, IPC students planted indigenous New Zealand shrubs.
After the tree planting, the students visited the Recycling Centre. Here, they observed what happens to the plastics, bottles, tin cans, and paper materials collected from within the city.
