Business Communication

This course is designed to maximise students' motivation by teaching them business entrepreneurship skills within a practical business setting. Students can establish and operate their own company with the support and guidance of lecturers, and learn theoretical knowledge and technical skills required to run a business. Students graduate with confidence through the experience of developing a sound business plan, managing the operations and overcoming unforeseen problems.

Environmental Studies

Diploma of International StudiesThis course focuses on providing experience and knowledge about a variety of contemporary environmental issues. Students learn about the environmental problems in general, followed by an in-depth search for solutions to real life situations such as business operations, individual choices and actions. The course includes a number of fieldtrips to raise the students' awareness and to enable them to gain practical knowledge about conservation of the natural environment.

This course examines the growing need for new types of support and care as family structures change and the population ages worldwide. A variety of care-giving environments, issues and solutions are introduced and students become actively involved in understanding the well-being of individuals and groups in the society. Students interact in the local community to enhance awareness of the problems society faces in the 21st century. In addition, students may have the opportunity to earn accreditation in a chosen complementary health care therapy.

Sports Management

This course provides students with opportunities to improve their performance in a chosen sport such as golf, rugby, tennis and softball by belonging to clubs in the local community, and at the same time studying sports administration and sports management. Students gain practical skills to organise sports events at local and national levels. Placing sports teaching within a business context also allows for opportunities to improve people skills and vocational possibilities.

Diploma of International StudiesTourism

The tourism industry is one of the most rapidly expanding industries in the world today. This course is designed to provide students with the theoretical knowledge, technical skills, international perspectives and practical training which allow them to secure careers in and contribute positively to the industry. Students have opportunities to participate in internships in Queenstown, a major tourism destination in New Zealand, to enable them to learn hands-on skills.
