Diploma of Japanese Language and Diploma of Japanese Language (Advanced)
(1 year of full time study each)
The development of beneficial relationships between Pacific nations and Japan depends upon mutual understanding and respect. Respect for and understanding of each other's point of view can only take place through increased contact and interaction between the people of the Pacific and the people of Japan. The key to any successful interaction lies in language and cross-cultural communication skills.
The Diplomas of Japanese Language are for students who plan to take up a career in which a very high standard of Japanese language is required. IPC is a centre of excellence in New Zealand for Japanese language. Students will study Japanese language at their respective levels, in small classes with Native Japanese lecturers. Due to the high number of Native Japanese on campus, students can practice Japanese every day, and make friends from all over Japan.
In addition to Japanese language papers, students can also study Japanese society, business and history. Graduates will have the knowledge, experience, qualifications, and language ability to succeed in Japan, or in New Zealand companies that deal with Japanese clients and business partners.
The Japanese Diplomas can also be cross-credited to the BIS programme, allowing IPC students to gain two unique qualifications at a Degree and Diploma level within three years of study.
