The Bachelor of International Studies (BIS) is a fully accredited three-year interdisciplinary degree programme. The BIS provides students with opportunities to explore four key areas: International Relations, International Business, Environmental Studies and Language Studies. Students can, if they wish, choose one of six majors: International Business, International Relations, Language Studies, Environmental Studies, or Japanese Studies.

BIS Student: 24 papers at three different levels required (360 credits)

minimum of 5 papers |
Each paper involves 50 hours of class contact time plus 100 hours of individual study. Each paper is worth 15 credits. Up to eight papers can be cross-credited into the BIS degree from the Diploma of Japanese Studies, the Diploma of Japanese Language, or from degree level papers completed at another tertiary institution.

Introduction to International Relations
Research/Study Skills 1
Research/Study Skills 2
Internationalism
Interdisciplinary project - preparation
Interdisciplinary project - completion
Also, at least six English, Japanese, or Chinese language or culture papers must be taken. Which papers you take depends mainly on which is your first language and your level of English.
