The Recreation Centre is a large, purpose built building which houses a Dojo, a basketball court with viewing stage and a weights room. There are also full changing facilities, including showers and lockers. Near the Rec Centre are 4 tennis courts and a large playing field where many students play rugby, football, frisbee and various other sports and games.

There are currently over 40 clubs and societies from IPC and the surrounding community who come and use the facilities. The Rec Centre is used on a regular weekly basis by over 20 sports clubs, but is also available for private hire.

From time to time, national teams and organizations such as Badminton NZ, Swim NZ and Volleyball NZ have enjoyed the use of the IPC Rec Centre facilities. Tae Kwon Do grading and martial arts tournaments have also been held in the Dojo.

The Rec Centre is open Monday-Friday 8am-11pm, and Saturday-Sunday 1pm-11pm. This means there are lots of opportunities to use its many facilities!
